Corporate sponsors and Pioneer Circle members underwrite our annual benefit luncheon and administrative costs, thus allowing WHWF to direct luncheon proceeds to crucial social programs serving women and children in Spokane County. Despite continuing efforts to bring in every underwriting dollar required to sustain WHWF's mission to fund programs, additional support is needed. Read on to learn more about the importance of underwriting contributions as you consider including WHWF in your corporate or personal giving plans this year.
- Approximately 55-65¢ in underwriting donations raises $1 for program support, making WHWF a good investment for the community overall. We realize underwriters can give directly to agencies, but local programs receive a much greater benefit by receiving dollars through WHWF. We garner individual donations, which in many cases, would not be received by the agency or program. We attract individual donors because WHWF carefully screens and visits every program and monitors its success – we are trusted.
- WHWF funding is considered the gold seal of approval for local non-profits. 100% of the agencies, whose programs we fund, acknowledge that a grant from a prestigious local funder, such as WHWF, allows them to leverage additional funding from public and private donors. We also fund program salaries, which makes WHWF somewhat unique.
- WHWF funding is crucial to small local agencies that provide excellent niche programs but struggle for recognition and funding from government and private donors.
- WHWF raises the awareness of needs in the community by bringing together the largest group of individuals in support of local nonprofits.
Please take some time to consider how WHWF may be included in your annual giving plans. Corporate sponsors are encouraged to contribute in any amount from $100 to $15,000.
