2009 Pioneer Circle: Growing a Circle of Caring Women Print E-mail

agerlaloneThe Pioneer Circle continues to be the largest underwriter of our annual benefit luncheon, enabling all donations at the luncheon to enrich programs assisting women and children in Spokane County. Every autumn our Pioneer Circle members come together to commit to WHWF's work and mission. This year we had the opportunity to be guests in the 1912 Italian Renaissance style home of WHWF supporter Judy Sugg, Ph.D. Thank you, Judy for opening your home and sharing its historic grandeur - what a special treat!  90 women raised $25,000, but we still have a long way to go to reach our goal. Pictured are longtime supporter and Pioneer Circle member Jeanne Ager (left) and past board member and President's Circle member Terry LaLone.

2009-10 President Sima Thorpe (far right) discussed the meaning of Pioneer Circle and led the applause as she announced top sponsors for 2010.

Current WHWF board member and Leadership Circle member, Kirstin Davis (center) introduced daughter Sophia to President's Circle member Janice Penar. Kirstin wanted Sophia to experience first hand the power of women in making a difference in the lives of those in need.  Kirstin's mother and President's Circle member Helen Donigan was also in attendance, bringing together three generations of caring women at the event.

Pioneer Circle member Cheryl Grabicki (right) also attended the event with daughter Michelle Grover. Introducing young women to the mission and vision of WHWF is essential in carrying on the organization's efforts to prevent abuse and drug use, reduce school dropout rates, and help end homelessness and hunger in Spokane County. These are just a few of the social issues being addressed by local programs supported by WHWF.

Please consider joining the members of the Pioneer Circle. Your $200 minimum tax-deductible donation helps ensure that every dollar raised at the 2010 luncheon is directed to programs assisting women and children in Spokane.
