Women Helping Women Fund's vision is to provide sustaining funds to ensure that women and children in our community have opportunities to reach their highest potential in order to lead healthy, productive lives and to contribute to the community. One of the ways we accomplish this is by promoting a spirit of cooperation within the organization, the community and with our donors and recipients so that we are aligned in achieving our mission.
Our Allocations Committee conducts a needs assessment, including emerging trends, utilizing existing research to guide the allocations process and to ensure that the needs of women and children are being served. We also strive to ensure that the grant-writing application and process is an equitable one so that everyone has a fair chance; not just professional grant writers.
Applications are carefully screened and rated by our Allocations Committee, evaluated by financial reviewers, and read by the entire Board of Directors in preparation for agency site visits. Some of our key concerns are: measurable goals; meeting an unmet need(s) in the community; demonstration of collaboration with other programs; and "give back" by program recipients.
