Message from the Board
Board President, Kristi Gravelle
We've been busy over the past year as we continue building a large community of educated, strategic givers who are inspired to make lasting change. Your kind heart made it possible to fund crucial programs, support scholars, and improve our community.
We look forward to learning and growing with you over the next year!
Nearly $160,000 was allocated to support 11 local nonprofit programs in the areas of career coaching, parenting support, food insecurity, disability support, emergency care of children and domestic violence legal advocacy.
We also launched InstaGrants. Each month a minimum of $500 is distributed to help local nonprofits address time-sensitive needs.
Vivian Winston Scholars
$9,000 was awarded to three young women pursuing higher education.
Nearly $60,000 in CARES Act funding was distributed for childcare assistance to help local mothers juggling the costs of tuition and childcare
In November 2020, we launched a collective giving community. Together, members magnify their impact and take an active role in local philanthropy while improving the lives of women and children in Spokane County.
In lieu of our Annual Luncheon, we hosted an 8-week campaign and raised over $170,000 for grantmaking. We also held our first livestream event with emcee Kris Crocker, 4 News Now and Maid author, Stephanie Land.
Community Relief Fund
$25,000 was donated to the Covid Relief Fund (managed by Innovia Foundation) to support Eastern Washington community based organizations on the frontline serving our region's most vulnerable populations
during the pandemic.
Women Helping Women Week
Women Helping Women Week is a week-long public awareness campaign to uplift, recognize, support and celebrate fellow women in our community from all walks of life.
The City of Spokane officially recognized this week on March 9, 2020.
